Per report from Adam Schefter based on evidence uncovered by NFL officials and a New York Times article.

In a statement sent out by the Senior Director of Media Relations, Jon Gruden has this to say…

I have resigned as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. I love the Raiders and do not want to be a distraction. Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and fans of Raider Nation. I’m sorry, I never meant to hurt anyone.

Followed shortly by this message from owner Mark Davis, also sent out by the Senior Director of Media Relations.

I have accepted Jon Gruden’s resignation as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to Adam Schefter, this is how it went down in the moment.

Jon Gruden used ‘misogynistic and homophobic language over several years to denigrate people and to mock some of the league’s momentous changes,’ The New York Times reports.

According to ESPN’s Suzy Kolber, a replacement has been named.
