There are two types of people in the world. Those that eat spaghetti and meatballs and those that eat spaghetti with meat sauce.

My whole life I did meatballs, it’s what my mom always made. My husband did meat sauce. So we were at a cross roads.. It took him about 12 years (I am not kidding) to tell me that he would rather have meat sauce than my meatballs. Easier on me to be honest!

So this is what I do to make it taste like it took me a long time..

I don’t really measure anything it’s all to taste… stay with me, its easy 😉


1lb ground turkey (you can use whatever ground meat you would like)

1/2 white onion chopped

Spaghetti noodles

Jar and a half of marinara sauce

Fresh mini mozzarella cheese balls (about 9)

Grape tomatoes (cut in half)

Fresh basil


Brown the ground turkey and saute onion in same pan at the same time and drain

Cook spaghetti noodles according to box

While those things are cooking cut up your mozz balls and tomatoes.

Mix your meat, noodles, sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and fresh basil in a pot and let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Plate it up, add some parm cheese on top, pour a glass of wine and pretend you were in the kitchen for hours!
