After getting furloughed from her job, a Washington woman decided to storm her kitchen for her community in need.
Michelle Brenner from Gig Harbor, Washington, made 1,200 free pans of lasagna for her community after getting furloughed from her job.
“If any of you want some fresh homemade, no calorie counting lasagna, please let me know and I will gladly prepare it,” said Brenner in her Facebook fundraiser.
Her lasagna fundraisers have raised over $10,000 dollars, which continues her lasagna giveaway.
“The world as we know it is falling apart, but my two little hands are capable of making a difference,” said Brenner. “I can’t change the world, but I can make lasagna.”
Brenner’s love for lasagna comes from helping her Italian Grandmother and Aunt in the kitchen as a kid. With family recipes in her hand, she is a huge success in the Gig Harbor community.
“-Thank you- Michelle Brenner I wanted to surprise my sister-in-law with a dinner to thank her. You are amazing and just such a blessing to many of us! They absolutely loved it,” said one Facebook user.
