WASHINGTON, DC - APRIL 29: Cocktails crafted by David Strauss as Eric Podwall Hosts An Exclusive Cocktail Experience The Evening Before White House Correspondents' Dinner at Sheppard on April 29, 2016 in Washington, DC.

Call me crazy, but, in my world after Halloween.. THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!

Also in my world.. most things are better with a good cocktail.

I used to be a bartender..so I consider myself a professional drink mixer and consumer of the drinks.

That being said I wanted to share a couple of my favorites with you, including one for the kids.

*Apple Pie* (this is my favorite)

1 ounce – Vanilla Vodka (I prefer Stoli)

1 ounce – Fire Ball

4 ounces – Apple Cider

Mix ingredients with ice or mix together and pour over ice. Your preference. If you want to get fancy, garnish it with a cinnamon stick and rim the glass with brown sugar!

*White Christmas Martini*

2 ounces – Vanilla Vodka

2 ounces – White Chocolate Liqueur

1 ounce – White Creme de Cacao

1 ounce – half and half

Shake with ice and strain into martini glass.. or if you are like me .. a solo cup 😉

*Wine*

Open bottle, pour into glass and enjoy. Repeat as necessary!

For the kids:

*Holiday Shirley Temple*

1/4 cup – OJ

3/4 cup – Sprite

2 Tbsp – Grenadine

Mix the OJ and Sprite together. Pour into glass, then drop the grenadine in let it drop to the bottom. Garnish with a cherry!

Cheers!!!
